The KAIROS DESIGN GROUP, LLC (KAIROS) provided assistance to the Borough of Camp Hill and to the Camp Hill School District during the preparation of the application for a Safe Routes to School grant.

All students walk and/or are driven to the Borough’s schools and no bussing exists for Borough students, thus making a network of accessible and safe pedestrians walks critical to both the Borough’s and School District’s pedestrian circulation system. Dispersed throughout the road network are five schools and multiple recreation facilities.

Services included reconnaissance and photography of major streets and access routes to the various schools within the Borough. Sidewalks, intersections, over- and underpasses, existing crosswalks, signage, and other factors were evaluated for condition and safety.

Specific recommendations were made and cost estimates for the completion of proposed upgrades were prepared for the application.
